How do I turn on two-step verification (2FA)?

With two-step verification on, logging in also requires the 6-digit code from an authenticator app on your phone after your password. Even if someone gets hold of your password, they can't get into your account.

Turning it on

  1. Install an authenticator app on your phone: Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password or similar.
  2. In your account, open the «Təhlükəsizlik» (Security) page and press «2FA-nı aktivləşdir» (Enable 2FA).
  3. Scan the QR code on screen with the app. If you can't scan it, type the displayed code into the app manually.
  4. Enter the current code from the app and press «Təsdiqlə və aktivləşdir» (Confirm and enable).
  5. Store the 8 recovery codes shown somewhere safe.

Recovery codes

If your phone isn't with you, you can enter one of the recovery codes instead of the authenticator code when logging in. Each code works once. The security page shows how many codes are left, and you can generate new ones at any time.

If you've lost your phone

Log in with a recovery code and set up 2FA again on your new phone. If you've lost both the phone and the recovery codes, write to support — 2FA can be turned off once your identity is confirmed.
